Believe it or not, i have had a handful of comments of people complaining of me stressing and dressing up the piggies. Firstly, ALL my work is done in photoshop and i do not dress up the piggies with any clothing at all.
So, i thought i would share the process of how i created the Batpig artwork from source photo to finished piece.
1: The source photograph… Thadeus sniffing the air after the fridge was opened
2: I islolated Thadeus from the background, and rotated to the rough position of the stock photo i got for the building to be used (slightly dodgy haircut too, sorry Thadeus!).
3: The first thing was the mask… this was painted within Photoshop from scratch.
4: What is a batpig without a cape? Again, painted from scratch in Photoshop.
5: Added the building from a previously purchased stock photo, added shading so she looked actually on top of it.
6: Another stock photo for the background was used, had to have a dark city scape!
7: Finally i added the sky, the Poster title and subtitle fonts and my logo… and there we have the process!
Altogether, i used around 90 minutes in Photoshop CC on this piece and as i mentioned before, i nearly never shared this as it was a test piece for a project a friend asked me to do. It´s funny how things work out!
